Palliative Care for Health Care Providers


At Geelong Palliative Care Group, we hope to extend our services to look after palliative patients with a limited life expectancy, providing end of life care, complex pain and general symptom management. We are keen to attend to patients with both malignant and non-malignant diagnoses. We are also open to involvement in family meetings, coordinating discharge planning and liaising directly with GPs.

Venues of Care Available


  • We have the capacity to admit patients under our bed card at:
    •     SJOG Hospital
    •     Epworth Geelong
    •     Anam Cara Geelong
    •     Anam Cara Colac
      • We can arrange direct admission to the ward, bypassing the Emergency Department, whenever appropriate
      • We are running a:
        •     Weekly outpatient clinic at Anam Cara Geelong
        •     Fortnightly clinic at Anam Cara Colac
          • We provide out of hours and weekend cover to all inpatients under our care
          • We will provide out of hours support to community patients who are in the terminal phase of their illness
          • Clients referred to us will not be charged any out of pocket fee for our service


Our Referral Process


Geelong Palliative Care Group accepts referrals from anyone requiring Palliative Care within the Greater Geelong Region including Geelong, Surf Coast Shire, Bellarine and Colac- Otway Regions. All referrals will first be discussed with the relevant primary Health Care Provider before contacting the patient.

Geelong Palliative Care Group endeavours to see all new referrals within 24 hours.
